Alkalino takes us on an edit journey through one of his strongest 6 track EP’s while disregarding genres making edits from Alan Parsons Project, and Mr Scruff. The EP starts off with the high energy “Angel Dust,” the track is enough to make you want to do drugs at some point. The highlight of the EP for us at Detroit Sounds Like This is hands down Alkalinos edit of the 1999 Mr. Scruff release of “Get A Move On.” Alkalinos edit showcases the horn section and strings with a very old yet new sounding groove.
Beyond the highlighted tracks above, the EP also gets a little bit of funk with a re-edit of Baby Huey and The Babysitters track “Hard Times,” with Alkalinos track entitled “There’s No Love.” From the start to end its hypnotizing horns and funk style cut is engaging and captivating.
